🇮🇳🇸🇪 CII Mission Engages Business Sweden on Waste-to-Worth Technologies and Circular Economy Opportunities
A 19-member Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mission on Waste-to-Worth Technologies, led by Mr. Masood Mallick, Chairman, CII Committee on Waste-to-Worth Technologies, held an interaction with a delegation from Business Sweden in Stockholm on 21 September 2026.
Mr. Mallick provided insights into India’s national circular economy ecosystem and the National Circular Economy Framework, highlighting opportunities to advance circularity and resource efficiency across key sectors in India.
The discussions focused on Sweden’s circular economy clusters, chemical ecosystem and leading initiatives, including pioneering large-scale carbon capture and e-fuel projects. The interaction also explored opportunities to connect Swedish technology providers and companies working in waste management, resource recovery and circular solutions, with potential to enter or expand their presence in the Indian market.
The engagement further covered India–Sweden industry linkages, technology partnerships and investment opportunities, building on the strong foundations of the India–Sweden Strategic Partnership and Joint Action Plan 2026–2030. Discussions also explored possibilities for continued institutional engagement between CII and Business Sweden.
The interaction reaffirmed the significant potential for co-innovation, co-creation, technology partnerships and sustainable solutions between India and Sweden in the circular economy and waste-to-worth sectors.
Counsellor (Commerce) appreciated Business Sweden for hosting the fruitful engagement and facilitating meaningful discussions on strengthening India–Sweden cooperation in sustainable technologies and circular economy solutions.
