Ambassador Acquino Vimal met with Erik Hilde, Global Head of External Strategies at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), and Nicolai Tangen, CEO of NBIM, to talk about NBIM’s equity market investments in India, which currently total more than US$32 billion. The Ambassador emphasized India’s strong and sustained economic growth, which is supported by solid foundations, during the discussion. He also talked about the country’s ongoing regulatory reforms, efforts to skill its educated workforce, the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) program, and increased infrastructure spending. Additionally shown were India’s cutting-edge offshore financial models, most notably the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA) at GIFT City. Nicolai Tangen was invited by Ambassador Vimal to visit India in the near future in order to interact with Indian financial institutions and specialists.
