Health is often overlooked amid the demands of daily life. Yet, while everyday tasks can wait, health cannot.
April 7 is observed as World Health Day, designated by the World Health Organization (WHO). In Armenia, the day is also celebrated as Motherhood and Beauty Day.
On this occasion, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Yerevan, the UN Armenia Office, the WHO Country Office in Armenia, and Yerevan State University, organized a public event to raise awareness about women’s health, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage women to prioritize their wellbeing.
As part of the program, Svetlana Avagyan, head of Luys Yoga Studio and a women’s yoga master, conducted an open yoga session for participants. The gathering was also addressed by World Weightlifting Champion Nazik Avdalyan, who encouraged women to take active steps toward caring for their health.
Participants received accessible health awareness materials, including informational leaflets on the prevention of breast and cervical cancer, as well as guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Here are a few highlights from our morning event.
