India’s Republic Day Celebrated in Madrid 🇮🇳🇪🇸 Strengthening India–Spain Ties
The Mission of India in Madrid celebrated the Republic Day of India, joined by the diplomatic corps and distinguished guests from Spain, including government officials, academicians, artists, and prominent members of the Indian community and diaspora.
The Ambassador highlighted India’s remarkable growth story under the leadership of Hon’ble PM, the historic India–EU FTA signed on 27th January 2026, and the growing India–Spain ties. He also recalled the visit of EAM to Spain in January 2025, when he addressed the Conference of Spanish Ambassadors.
H.E. Mr. Fernando Mariano Sampedro Marcos, State Secretary for the European Union, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, recalling the visits of HE President Sánchez and HE Foreign Minister Albares to India. The Ambassador and Chief Guest looked forward to collaborative initiatives under the India–Spain Year of Culture, Tourism, and Artificial Intelligence 2026.
The event was further enlivened by spectacular cultural performances by Indian and Spanish artists, celebrating the rich heritage and deepening friendship between the two nations.
