The Ambassador met with Mrs. Raquel Valdueza, also known as Shankari Shaktini, the founder of the Yoga and Dharma Academy, which has active centers in Granada, Hungary, and Rishikesh. During the meeting, Mrs. Valdueza shared the Academy’s ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting the timeless values of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Indian spiritual philosophy among communities in Spain and Europe.
The Ambassador appreciated the Academy’s dedicated efforts in strengthening cultural understanding and deepening the appreciation of India’s spiritual heritage abroad. The discussions also explored potential avenues of collaboration to further expand India’s cultural outreach in Spain — including joint programmes, workshops, and activities that highlight India’s traditional knowledge systems.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the International Day of Yoga as a global platform to spread the message of health, harmony, and well-being. Plans to engage the local community in meaningful celebrations for the upcoming International Yoga Day were also discussed.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue working together to enhance people-to-people linkages and foster a stronger cultural and spiritual connect between India and Spain.
