India Reiterates People Centric Climate Action at COP30

India reaffirms its unwavering commitment to equity, climate justice, and multilateralism at COP30 in Belém,
In its intervention, India reiterated that global climate action must place people, communities, and vulnerable populations at the center of policy decisions. It stressed that an equitable and just transition cannot be achieved without recognizing the developmental needs of the Global South and ensuring fair access to resources.

India further emphasized that climate finance and access to clean technologies should be treated as fundamental rights rather than bargaining tools in negotiations. Predictable, adequate, and timely financial flows, along with technology transfer, are essential to enable developing countries to meet their climate goals while pursuing sustainable growth.

Guided by the principles of climate responsibility, shared but differentiated obligations, and international cooperation, India highlighted the importance of strengthening multilateralism to achieve a balanced and inclusive global climate framework.
