India Reaffirms Strong Commitments at COP30 in Belém

At COP30 in Belém, India reiterated its strong and unwavering commitment to the principles of Equity, Climate Justice and Multilateralism, reaffirming that global climate action must be fair, balanced and aligned with the developmental priorities of the Global South.

🇮🇳 emphasized that meaningful progress on climate action is possible only when there is a clear, transparent and universally accepted definition of Climate Finance. India reiterated that climate finance must be adequate, predictable and accessible, enabling developing nations to meet their mitigation and adaptation goals without compromising their developmental needs.

India also called for reliable, affordable and equitable access to Climate Technologies, highlighting that technology transfer and capacity-building are essential pillars for accelerating global climate solutions. Ensuring that developing countries have access to these technologies is key to achieving global climate targets in a just and inclusive manner.

Further, India underscored the importance of Just Transitions—a process that must remain people-centric, nationally determined and equitable, respecting the unique socioeconomic contexts of each country. India stressed that climate transitions must safeguard livelihoods, support vulnerable communities and prioritize sustainable growth pathways.

Through its interventions, India reaffirmed its leadership and commitment to shaping a climate-resilient future grounded in cooperation, fairness and collective ambition.
