India Airlines Rises as Europe Expands Air Routes

Europe’s leading airlines are sharply increasing their flight operations to India as shifting regional dynamics reduce the capacity of Gulf carriers. With fewer options through traditional Middle Eastern hubs, India is rapidly emerging as a key gateway for air travel between Europe and Asia.

From late March 2026, major European carriers have announced substantial increases in flight frequencies on India–Europe routes. This expansion reflects a strategic move to tap into growing demand while filling the gap left by constrained competition in the Gulf region. As a result, India’s primary aviation hubs are witnessing remarkable growth, strengthening the country’s position as a crucial transit point in global air travel.
