Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas Celebration in Melbourne 🇮🇳
To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Consulate General of India, Melbourne, in collaboration with the Bihar Jharkhand Sabha Melbourne, will host a special event to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on Thursday, 13 November 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at 344 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, VIC 3004.
The celebration aims to honour the extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a revered tribal freedom fighter who played a pivotal role in India’s struggle against colonial rule and in protecting the rights and identity of tribal communities.
The event will bring together members of the Indian diaspora, community leaders, and friends of India to reflect on Birsa Munda’s enduring legacy and his contributions towards social justice, cultural pride, and empowerment of the marginalized.
The evening will feature speeches, cultural performances, and tributes that highlight India’s rich tribal heritage and its vital place in the nation’s history. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the government’s initiatives to promote tribal welfare and preserve indigenous art, traditions, and languages.
