France Hits 1 lakh COVID Cases For The First Time

According to the authorities, the nationwide death toll has now reached 122,546, after an additional 84 Covid-19 fatalities were confirmed. The French Ministry of Health reports that 52,712,462 people, or 78.2% of the population, have received at least one immunisation dose.
COVID- On Saturday, the number of instances of 19 infections in France reached a new high, with 1,04,611 new cases reported in just 24 hours.

For the first time in France since the pandemic began in early 2020, the latest data effectively broke the 1,00,000 mark. On Friday, the number of daily infections in the European country topped 94,100, up from 58,500 the week before.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the rapid spike in COVID-related diseases, France has tightened the granting of health passes, according to French national media. The French health ministry imposed a booster dose on Friday in order to obtain a health pass, which is also required to enter cafés, restaurants, and public areas, as well as international travel.

According to The Guardian, specialists from the SPI-M-O organisation have warned that hospitalizations might reach 3,000 to 10,000 per day, with nearly 600 to 6,000 deaths per day. Meanwhile, on December 25, Italy set a new record for COVID-19 case success.
