European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and PM Narendra Modi hail the mother of all deals in India EU partnership

A truly historic moment for 🇮🇳 India and 🇪🇺 the European Union as both sides conclude a landmark trade agreement that sets the course for a stronger and more resilient partnership.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the agreement as “the mother of all deals,” highlighting the creation of a free trade zone of nearly two billion people, designed to deliver mutual growth, shared prosperity, and long-term economic benefits. She underlined that this achievement is only the beginning, with India and Europe committed to further deepening their strategic relationship.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the agreement will drive trade, investment, and innovation, while reinforcing strategic cooperation across key sectors. He noted that it reflects the shared resolve of India and the European Union to shape a stable, prosperous, and future-ready economic relationship, aligned with common values and global responsibilities.

Together, India and the EU are opening a new chapter—strengthening economic ties, enhancing strategic trust, and contributing to global stability and growth.
