Secretary (West) @AmbSibiGeorge met H.E. Ms. Ana Isabel Xavier (@aixavier), Secretary of State of Portugal, during his official visit to Lisbon. The meeting reflected the warm and friendly relations between India and Portugal, rooted in shared values of democracy, cultural exchange, and mutual respect.
He also co-chaired the 5th round of India–Portugal Foreign Office Talks with Ms. Helena Malceta, Director General of Foreign Policy. Both sides held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors including trade, investment, science and technology, education, culture, and renewable energy.
The consultations also covered regional and global developments of common concern, as well as cooperation in multilateral forums. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the India–Portugal partnership and to work closely in advancing India–EU relations.
The visit further strengthened the momentum of high-level exchanges and underlined the shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity.
