It was a pleasure hosting Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Ahmedabad. His visit has brought new momentum to India–Germany relations, as we celebrate 25 years of our Strategic Partnership and 75 years of diplomatic ties. India is honoured that he chose our nation for his first visit in Asia, reflecting his personal commitment to strong bilateral relations.
We agreed to elevate our partnership to a qualitatively higher level, with deeper cooperation in defence, space, and emerging technologies. Our discussions also encompassed climate action, resilient supply chains, skilling, education, sports, and strengthening cultural and people-to-people ties.
