Amb. Mr. Manish Joins UN Leadership in Cyprus to Honour Gen. K. S. Thimayya
On 18 December 2025, the High Commissioner of India 🇮🇳, Manish, along with the top United Nations official in Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, SRSG, and senior leadership of UNFICYP, gathered at the monument outside Ledra Palace for a solemn ceremony to commemorate General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya.
General Thimayya, who served as the Mission’s Force Commander from June 1964 to December 1965 and was the second Force Commander of UNFICYP, passed away 60 years ago in Cyprus. The gathering paid floral tributes and remembered his distinguished life, leadership, and lasting contributions to international peacekeeping.
