A Step Forward in Health Tech Partnership: CG Kishore’s Visit to Mainz

On 10 November 2025, Consul General Ms. Shuchita Kishore paid a courtesy call on Ms. Petra Dick-Walther, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture & Viniculture (MWVLW) of Rhineland-Palatinate, in Mainz.

During the productive meeting, both sides discussed the evolving India–Germany partnership and explored new avenues for enhancing cooperation in sectors such as innovation, healthcare, technology development, industrial growth, and research-driven entrepreneurship.

As part of the engagement, detailed presentations were delivered on key institutions such as the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical Studies (IZKS) and the Medical Device Innovation Centre (MIC). These presentations highlighted their pivotal roles in clinical trials, medical technology innovation, regulatory research, and translational medicine, offering valuable insights into potential collaboration with Indian institutions and industries.

The visit also included an extensive tour of the University Medical Center (UniMed) Mainz, where CG Kishore interacted with leading researchers and faculty. She visited several advanced research units including:

  • Core Facility Next Generation Sequencing (CFNGS)

  • Cell Biology Unit (CBU)

  • State-of-the-art laboratories specialising in RNA deep sequencing, protein science, cancer biology, and sleep-related clinical studies at the ENT Clinic

These visits showcased Rhineland-Palatinate’s strong ecosystem in biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmaceuticals, and data-driven health innovation.

The discussions underscored numerous possibilities for collaboration between Rhineland-Palatinate and India, particularly in areas such as biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, AI-enabled digital transformation, clinical research partnerships, and the development of advanced medical devices. Both sides expressed enthusiasm to further deepen institutional partnerships and explore joint initiatives in the health and innovation sectors.
