Strengthening India–Norway Economic Ties at the Storting, Oslo 🇮🇳🇳🇴
Hon’ble Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, met with Members of the Norwegian Parliament at the Storting in Oslo .
The Minister held fruitful discussions with:
• Ms. Tuva Moflag, Head of the Finance Committee
• Ms. Trine Lise Sundnes, Deputy Head of the EFTA Committee
• Mr. Himanshu Gulati, Head of the Indian–Norwegian Friendship Group
Both sides explored avenues to strengthen bilateral investment and expand economic collaboration, particularly in the context of the growing significance of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.
The Committee members welcomed the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Norway later this year, expressing confidence that it will further deepen India–Norway ties.
Smt. Sitharaman also invited the delegation to visit GIFT International Financial Services Centre (GIFT-IFSC), highlighting its world-class infrastructure, globally competitive ecosystem, attractive tax incentives, and liberalised regulatory framework for financial institutions.
The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing India–Norway economic partnership and fostering stronger institutional cooperation.
