India–NRW Ties Gain Momentum Through High-Level Engagements 🇮🇳🇩🇪
Ambassador Ajit Gupte met Ms. Mona Neubaur, Deputy Minister-President and Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry & Climate Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), on 5 Feb 2026.
NRW, Germany’s most populous state contributing nearly 20% of the country’s GDP, remains a key partner for India’s economic engagement in Europe.
Both sides discussed follow-up measures after Chancellor Merz’s visit to India and agreed to intensify exchanges of political and business delegations. They also welcomed the recent visit of the Mayor of Düsseldorf to 🇮🇳 and noted the strong interest among 🇩🇪 businesses to explore opportunities in India — and vice versa.
