India–UK Advance Social Security Agreement Talks to Eliminate Double Contributions 🤝🇮🇳🇬🇧

Negotiations for the India–UK Social Security Agreement on Double Contributions were held in New Delhi on 21–22 January 2026.

The Indian delegation was led by MEA Joint Secretary Shri P. S. Gangadhar, while the UK side was headed by Mr. Edmund Hair, Deputy Director, National Insurance Policy. The discussions focused on concluding a mutually beneficial agreement aimed at eliminating dual social security contributions and enhancing ease of mobility.

Once finalized, the agreement is expected to significantly benefit employers and cross-border professionals in both countries, further strengthening the growing India–UK partnership
