A Fond Farewell to Dr. Sushil Kumar in Melbourne
It was a bittersweet moment yesterday at the Consulate General of India, Melbourne as we bid farewell to Consul General Dr Sushil Kumar and his gracious wife Mona Sushil.
Over the past three and a half years, they have been a constant presence across Victoria and Tasmania, attending countless community events with warmth, dedication, and inclusivity—often participating in multiple engagements in a single day to ensure every community felt represented.
While Dr Kumar worked tirelessly to strengthen economic, trade, and people-to-people ties between Victoria and India, his deepest impact was felt within the Indian diaspora. He went above and beyond in delivering consular services, frequently assisting members of the community at odd hours and in moments of urgent need.
Thank you, Dr Sushil, for your exceptional service and compassion. You will be truly missed, but as many Members of Parliament and dignitaries rightly said yesterday—you will always have a home in Victoria.
