Secretary (West) Sibi George participated in the inaugural gathering of the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum held in Brussels, reaffirming India’s strong commitment to a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.
During the Forum, Secretary (West) engaged in meaningful exchanges with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Maldives, Somalia, and Tuvalu.
Discussions covered a wide spectrum of shared priorities including maritime security, resilient supply chains, sustainable connectivity, climate action, and enhanced regional cooperation. The interactions underscored the importance of collective action to address emerging global challenges and promote stability, prosperity, and a secure future for the Indo-Pacific.
India’s participation demonstrated its readiness to deepen strategic cooperation with the European Union and partner countries, driving forward a collaborative agenda that benefits the entire region.
