Congratulations to the T20 Men’s Indian Cricket Team for an incredible win at Hobart, Tasmania

Historic moments were witnessed as the T20 Men’s Indian Cricket Team returned to Tasmania after 17 years, delivering an incredible game and a magnificent win that filled the stadium with excitement and pride.

It was a great honour to attend this memorable match alongside Dr. Sushil Kumar, Consul General of India in Melbourne; The Honourable Deputy Premier Guy Barnett; The Honourable Minister of Sports Nick Duigan, MLC; The Honourable Treasurer Eric Abetz; The Honourable Minister of Sports Jane Howlett; Brendan Blomeley, Mayor of the City of Clarence; Deputy Lord Mayor Dr. Zelinda Sherlock; Tim Scott, Chair of Cricket Tasmania; and Dominic Baker, CEO of Cricket Tasmania.

The event also highlighted the growing opportunities for collaboration in tourism between India and Tasmania, marked by the presence of Sarah Clark, CEO of Tourism Tasmania; renowned Indian fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar; Ms. Sarah Tendulkar; and other distinguished dignitaries.

The atmosphere was truly electrifying, with over 12,000 enthusiastic spectators, record-breaking presale tickets, and perfect weather making the day even more special.

Heartfelt congratulations to our Indian Women’s Cricket Team as well, for their historic achievement — creating an unforgettable moment in Indian cricket. We look forward to welcoming them to Bellerive in February 2026
