Indian Swan Lake, a landmark intercultural production, brought the curtains down on the Music Festival in Potsdam, Sanssouci on 29 June 2025, leaving an audience of over 1,900 mesmerized.
Supported by India in Germany (Embassy of India, Berlin), ICCR in Germany – Indisches Kulturzentrum, TTC, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Kunststiftung NRW, the performance was a shining example of cross-cultural collaboration.
Reimagined by Werner Ehrhardt (Artistic Director, @L’arte del mondo), Indian Swan Lake retold the iconic ballet through the Indian epic tale of Nala and Damayanti from the Mahabharata. The production seamlessly blended Odissi and Ballet with a live orchestra, choreographed masterfully by @Aruna Mohanty and @Deda Cristina Colonna.
The result was a rich and immersive performance, fusing Indian and European dance traditions into a truly unforgettable experience.
