EOI Hague Tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on Birth Anniversary on 7th May 2023

Rabindranath Tagore, prolific writer, poet, philosopher and social reformer who produced a vast amount of significant works during his lifetime including India’s national anthem , his most famous work ‘Gitanjali’- collection of poem earned him the Nobel prize in Literature in 1913.
His efforts to improve society and promote gender equality and educational opportunity were groundbreaking. He had a vision for education that included both artistic expression and spiritual development, and he put that into practice by establishing the Shantiniketan school.
His writings have been translated into a wide variety of languages, and his readers and admirers can be found in every corner of the globe. His work as a literary genius and social reformer has inspired generations of readers.
On May 7th, 2023 at 12PM, the Gandhi Centre, the Embassy of India, The India Foundation (IF), and Wandelen met Frank Kanhai will host the first Tagore walk in The Hague, beginning at the Central Library on Spui 68 BT 2511 and ending at the Gandhi Centre on Parkstraat 99, JH 2514, with a cultural program to follow at the Gandhi Centre.
