India in Ireland (Embassy of India, Dublin) organised a cooking event in association with Monsoon Stillorgan for various millets dishes. Chief Chef Alok Kumar demonstrated the preparation of some simple but delicious dishes using Finger Millet, Pearl Millet and Barnyard Millet.
The Dishes included:
1. Millet Chat
2. Millet Khichdi
3. Barnyard Curd Millet
4. Finger Millet Wraps
5. Payasam
Participants from different sectors of Irish society including yoga teachers, retired publicans, business owners, retired veterinary doctors and computer and business analysts were present. The samples of the demonstrated dishes were also provided for tasting.
