The German authorities are planning to empty the list of virus variant places once more, as they declared on Thursday, December 30 that, beginning January 4, all countries on the list of virus variant areas will be moved to the high-risk list.

On Thursday(30-12-2021), Robert Koch Institute (RKI)German federal government agency and research institute responsible for disease control and prevention announced,

The list of current virus variant areas is expected to be valid up to and including Monday, January 3, 2022 (from Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 12:00 a.m., the countries previously classified as virus variant areas will be classified as high-risk areas, changes at short notice are possible),”

As a result of the adjustment, travellers from these nations will be able to enter Germany starting January 4, subject to the same limitations as the rest of the globe.

Before, only German residents and citizens, as well as a select group of people, were allowed to enter Germany from virus-infected areas.

While the first eight countries have been on the virus variant areas list since November 28, the United Kingdom has been on it since December 20.
