In Ireland, one out of every two PCR tests is positive

According to the Republic of Ireland’s health department, about one in every two people tested for coronavirus obtains a positive result. As per the Health Service Executive, demand for Covid-19 tests was “unprecedented” The high demand for PCR tests, according to the company’s testing chief, may result in higher wait times for individuals who want one.On  monday Republic of Ireland records 6,735 cases and According to national broadcaster RTE the positivity rate amoung who tested positive was 49.7%. The Irish health department estimates that 87% of Omicron variant cases are being reported. The HSE’s testing capacity in the Republic of Ireland has tripled in recent months, according to Damien McCallion.

He also stated that It was “almost difficult” to keep up with the demand for testing, which was fueled by a “high level of sickness in the population.” “We’ll continue to give a service, we’ll continue to provide access, and we’ll continue to open up slots for individuals.” “However, what’s really important for people is to follow public health advice in terms of limiting their moves and ensuring that they’re symptom-free for 48 hours before changing.”

As per reports nearly 236,757 single dose recorded while 3,649,595 and 3,591,370 people had their first and second doses respectively. Around 2 million people received a booster dose.
