CG John H. Ruolngul inaugurated a 2-day Indian Film Festival at Kino CITY 46 Bremen on 11 Dec 2021 in the presence of Mr Elombo Bolayela, Member of Bremen Parliament and Prof Dr Arvid Kappas, Dean, Jacobs University, and also interacted with members of the Indian community at a Reception after the inauguration.
The Festival was organized by Shaktya e.V. in association with The Tagore Centre, Berlin and CGI Hamburg, supported by ZIM Bremen, ISAB Bremen, Dr Mishra Academy Bremen, Punjabi Store and Zineflix. The newly-released ‘Antim’ (Hindi), starring Salman Khan, was screened on the inaugural evening, followed by ‘Bhaji In Problem’ (Punjabi) and ‘Irudhi Sutru – Final Round’ (Tamil) on 12 Dec 2021. Around 240 people attended the 2-day event. The Shaktya Indische-Deutsche Excellence Award (IDEA) Award 2021 for promotion of Indian art and culture through Indian films was also awarded to IndoGerman Film Week Berlin and Kino City 46 Bremen at the inaugural function.
