Tribute to Late shri hemanta mukherjee

 

 

The programme paid a tribute to the great music composer and singer, Late Shri Hemanta Mukherjee. The mellifluous rendition of the artistes left the audience spell bound and asking for more. Special personal requests from audience for old Hindi songs were also taken up by the artistes during the performance.

The artiste was accompanied by Shri Indranil Mallick on tabla, who is a promising tabla player of rare skill and has already established himself as both as a soloist and accompanist. He received his initial training in tabla from Shri Montu Mallick and is now under the guidance of Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. The artistes through their wonderful and soulful renditions of old popular film songs paid a tribute to Late Shri Hemanta Mukherjee, a great singer and composer. Late Shri Mukherjee had won two National awards for the category best male playback singer. The artistes also performed a couple of Tagore songs in the beginning.
