The Rules and Restrictions of Traveling to Denmark Under COVID-19

Denmark’s tourism industry was at its peak when the Coronavirus pandemic infected the world at the start of 2020. It had 56.1 millions overnight stays in 2019, making it the highest total number of overnight stays in Denmark’s history.

These were the most popular destinations for tourists from the UK, EU and EEA. But, Americans and Chinese travelers were the top foreign visitors.

The pandemic, however, has brought down the industry, even though the EU block’s borders were closed for nearly a year for travellers from outside the EU.

Since the start, the Danish authorities has been continuously trying to safely reopen the borders. First for EU citizens, now for third country nationals. The efforts were unsuccessful, but they did help to revive the travel sector.

These rules and restrictions are important for anyone planning to travel to Denmark within the next few months.
