On November 20–21, 2024, a two-member delegation led by Mr. Prashant Kumar Singh, Vice Minister of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, traveled to Norway to interact with Norwegian offshore wind technology businesses and their ecosystem. He observed live operations of Equinor’s offshore windfarms at the Hywind Tampen floating windfarms’ onshore control center in Bergen.
Following that, the delegation went to the Corvus Energy Battery Plant, a world leader in battery solutions for the marine sector. They also discussed their current initiatives with the Indian shipyards in Chowgule and Cochin. They were eager to increase the scope of their business in India.
The Vice Minister engaged in a thorough conversation with Odfjell Oceanwind’s technological team, which possessed exclusive floating offshore wind solutions. The technology testing, engineering procurement, construction management, and long-term operational management of such windfarms were among the many facets of offshore wind technology that they discussed. Additionally, they indicated their desire to work with Indian partners to advance the offshore wind energy industry in India.
