VaniRao and Mrs. Lily Pandeya, Additional Secretary, @MinOfCultureGoI, met in Rome with Mr. Clemente Contestabile, Diplomatic Adviser to the Italian Ministry of Culture.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss ways to deepen India–Italy cooperation in the fields of culture, heritage, and creative industries. Both sides exchanged views on promoting joint initiatives in areas such as museum collaborations, conservation of cultural heritage, exchange of artists and experts, and showcasing traditional as well as contemporary art forms.

They also discussed avenues to enhance people-to-people connections through cultural festivals, exhibitions, film, and performing arts. Strengthening institutional linkages and facilitating creative partnerships between cultural institutions in both countries were highlighted as key steps toward enriching mutual understanding.

The discussions reflected the shared commitment of India and Italy to preserving cultural heritage while encouraging innovation and creativity as drivers of sustainable cultural diplomacy.
