Parliamentary Secretary Gunda Reire visiting India to participate in India’s Annual High Level Foreign Policy Conference Raisina Dialogue 2023

Parliamentary Secretary Gunda Reire visiting India to participate in India’s Annual High Level Foreign Policy Conference Raisina Dialogue 2023, addressing a panel on issues related to impact of modern technology on international relations, including conflict situations.
G . . Reire stated that it is high time for the international community to recognize the ugly truth: Russia is an authoritarian state, a revisionist force, an aggressor. “We have to help Ukraine win. It is clear who is the aggressor and who defends his territory, freedom, sovereignty and people. Stopping Russia is also very important because other aggressors may take its example as encouragement. Peace and justice in Ukraine will be restored and I am sure that this road will lead through The Hague. “
She pointed out that Western sanctions were meant to stifle Russia’s ability to finance its war machine. “At the moment, we are seeing that sanctions have done considerable damage to the aggressor’s military industry, its military capabilities.” Russia is running out of technology. This is why we call not to supply Russia with military and dual-use technologies it needs to continue the war. “
During a visit to the G. Reire met Utpal Kumar Singh, Secretary-General of the Indian Parliament and discussed bilateral cooperation between Latvia  and India India, European Union Latvia and India relations, and cooperation in international organisations. The negotiating partner stressed the need to continue high-level exchange of visits and deepen economic dialogue in areas such as information and communication technology and green technology.
The Parliamentary Secretary also took part in the events organized by the Latvian Embassy to India and Javaharlal Neru University dedicated to empowering women in the digital age, as well as in the ICWA discussion of the current events in Europe and the Indian and Pacific region.
