Important Update: ICAO Photos Now Mandatory for Indian Passport Services
Applying for an Indian passport or any passport-related service?
Please note that ICAO-compliant photographs are now mandatory on the Passport Seva portal.
📸 Where to get the photo?
You can take ICAO-compliant photos at any professional studio. Most studios can easily adjust images to meet ICAO standards.
If you cannot visit a studio, you may use basic editing tools to adjust your photo. Just make sure:
✔️ Use a plain, preferably white background
✔️ Crop the image so your face covers about 85% of the photo
✔️ Set the pixel size to 630×810 for clarity
✔️ Keep the file size under 250 KB
✔️ If you wear a turban, ensure most of the forehead and face remain visible
