Strengthening India–Sweden Defence Cooperation
A delegation from India’s Army War College, Mhow, visited Sweden 🇸🇪 from 4–8 November 2025 as part of a Defence Outreach Programme aimed at deepening bilateral understanding and cooperation in the field of defence and strategic studies.
During the visit, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions with key Swedish institutions, including the Ministry of Defence, the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence University, SWEDINT (Swedish Armed Forces International Centre), the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
These interactions provided valuable insights into Sweden’s defence structure, training methodologies, and strategic policy frameworks, as well as opportunities for collaboration in peacekeeping, conflict management, and military education. The delegation also visited various industrial complexes to gain first-hand exposure to Sweden’s advanced defence manufacturing and technology capabilities.
The visit reinforced the shared commitment of India and Sweden to strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing institutional exchanges, and promoting global peace and stability through dialogue, knowledge sharing, and partnership.
