Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration
Embassy of India organised the celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti in collaboration with the Ambedkar School in Miskolc on 13 April 2022.
The event opened with opening remarks by Dr. Janos Orsos, Head of Jai Bhim religious network followed by singing of the Indian National Anthem by the students of the school.
Shri S. Ramji, Head of Chancery represented the Embassy at the event. In his speech, he thanked the Ambedkar School for the magnificent work they are doing in educating the under-privileged and minority community and urged the students to follow the example set by Dr. Ambedkar.The speech was followed by a cultural programme of Dr Chirayu Bhole, Tabla artist and Mr Abhishek Khichi, Kathak dancer from Amrita Shergil Cultural Center who gave a glimpse of Indian classical rhythms and dance.
Dr Anna Aklan Indologist gave a lecture to the students about the relevance of B.R. Ambedkar, speaking about historical background and Ambedkar’s philosophy as well.
The programme concluded with a workshop on Indian music and dance. The event was organized to mark the 75th year of Independence of India in the AKAM event series of the Embassy.
