Due to the pandemic spread of the corona virus, the service is considerably restricted until further notice.
- At all locations, service is generally only possible with an appointment.
- Therefore, please do not come to our locations on Friedrich-Krause-Ufer and Keplerstraße without an appointment.
What does that mean for you?
- As long as you cannot contact us without an appointment, the following applies to foreigners living in Berlin:
- We consider temporary documents on the right of residence to be continuing until the Berlin Immigration Office is fully operational again and it is possible to serve people without an appointment again. We will inform you when this is the case.
- This also applies to all secondary provisions of these documents, in particular with regard to the type and scope of permitted employment.
- However, traveling abroad and re-entering Germany are only possible with a residence title that is still valid.
Can you go to another location of the Berlin Immigration Office?
- Please do not go to another location that is not responsible for your request. You cannot be operated there either due to the current situation.
Do you already have an appointment to issue or extend a residence title?
- We are trying to serve at least all appointment customers in the near future.
- However, this is subject to human resources (how many employees of the Berlin Immigration Office are still in service) and further developments in the pandemic situation.
What’s next?
- Due to the dynamic spread of the corona virus, it is currently not possible to estimate when the Berlin Immigration Office can fully restore its services.
- Please inform yourself daily on our website. We’ll keep you up to date.
