The Indian Film Festival, part of the broader celebration of India-Portugal diplomatic relations, was attended by members of the Indian diaspora, Portuguese dignitaries, and cinema enthusiasts. The film English Vinglish, directed by Gauri Shinde, was chosen for its heartwarming portrayal of self-empowerment and the strength of familial bonds, while Reva, a Gujarati film based on the popular novel Tatvamasi by Dhruv Bhatt, offered a spiritual and cultural journey along the Narmada River.
The festival served as a cultural bridge, providing an opportunity for the Portuguese audience to experience the diversity of Indian cinema. Ambassador Puneet Kundal emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy and how such events contribute to strengthening people-to-people connections between India and Portugal.
