India in Ireland (Embassy of India, Dublin) successfully organized a hybrid event on “8 Jewels of North-Eastern India” on 25 November 2025 as part of its Commercial Outreach initiatives.
Ambassador H.E. Akhilesh Mishra delivered opening remarks highlighting the rich potential of the North-Eastern Region of India in trade, tourism, culture and investment.

🔹 Mr. Niraj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India
🔹 Ms. Kime Bune, Invest India
Both speakers gave comprehensive presentations showcasing the tremendous opportunities and strengths of the region — from natural resources, connectivity and skilled workforce to its cultural heritage and tourism landscape.
🤝 The event witnessed participation from key Irish stakeholders, including:
▪ Mr. Stephen Curran, Director, Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment
▪ Mr. Hubert Murphy, CEO, Drogheda & District Chamber
▪ Ms. Carole Deering, Representative, Ireland-India Business Association (IIBA)
▪ Ms. Aisling McDermott, Head of Global Partnerships, Tourism Ireland
along with other industry and business leaders.
The event further strengthened India–Ireland commercial engagement and opened pathways for future partnerships in trade, tourism and investment focused on India’s North-Eastern Region.
