75th Anniversary of Independence celebrated in Hamburg (August 21, 2022)
The 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence was celebrated in Hamburg jointly by Hanseatic India Forum and Indian Festival Committee Hamburg on 21 August 2022 at Brakula, Hamburg in association with the Consulate. In his address to the gathering, Consul General John H. Ruolngul remembered the great Freedom Fighters and spoke of India’s many achievements in the last 75 years, followed by a talk on ‘India and Advanced Frugal Innovation’ by Prof. Balakrishna Rao, ICCR Chair of Indian Studies at Leibnitz University , Hannover. Around 80 prominent members of the Indian Diaspora and friends of India, including Prof. Stefan Buse, Institute for Technology & Innovation, Hamburg, Julia-Ann Shiraishi from Hamburg Senate, Sunny Kapoor, from Hamburg Youth Parliament attended the event which also included scintillating dance performances by Sadhani & Thaaruni Sivakumar, Sonia Ghosh, a solo performance on Sarod by Bhaswar Goswami and ended with the National Anthem.
