Textiles figure among one of the important sectors in India-Germany bilateral trade. The cooperation has expanded to cover research and development of new technologies intergrating strengths from academic institutions and innovative industrial applications dedicated to textile technologies.
Consul General visited the renowned Intitute for Textile Technology in Aachen (ITA) and interacted with the team of reserchers led by Prof. Dr. Thomas Gries. It was hearteneing to know about the robust cooperation that witnessed practical application under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as part of the award winning initiative by one of the Alumni of ITA, Dr Mohit Raina. There is considerable untapped potential, especially using natural and biodegradable fibres produced in India for wider industrial applications using technologies developed by ITA.
