30.2 million passengers visited Spain in November, up 52.7 percent from the same period previous year.
Spain received approximately four million passengers, recovering 70% of the volume from 2019.As per the data, out of the total number of international tourists who visited Spain last month, the clear majority (53%) chose low-cost airlines, while the remaining (47%) preferred regular carriers.
In this regard, Reyes Maroto, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, stated that the data shows that international tourists choose to visit Spain primarily because of the high vaccination rate in the country, with more than 37.7 million Spaniards fully vaccinated, accounting for 89.7% of the target population.
Italy was the third-largest source of visitors to Spain in November, accounting for 10.1 percent of all arrivals, an increase of 1,080 percent year on year, with Madrid, Catalonia, and the Canary Islands being the most popular destinations.
All of the major source nations have seen considerable increases, with the United Kingdom (17.9%) leading the way with a 659.7% year-on-year increase, with the majority of the visitors going to the Canary Islands.
