Netherlands Will Only Recognize Booster Shot COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates From February 2022

The Dutch Minister of Health, Hugo de Jonge, has declared that beginning from February 2022 the country’s authorities will just recognize COVID-19 vaccination certificates that indicate that the holder has received a booster shot.Accordingly, this implies that the Netherlands will shorten the validity of vaccination certificates from 12 to nine months, and every one of the people who don’t meet this prerequisite will be needed to follow additional entry guidelines.
The choice of the Dutch authorities to shorten the validity of vaccination passes, which will authoritatively go into power on February 1, follows the proposal of the European Union Commission to make an individual-based methodology and a norm for vaccination certificates acceptance. The Commission recommended that the Member States don’t acknowledge vaccination certificates that have not been given inside nine months. In any case, the EU Member States need to facilitate on the matter and approach with a joint choice.
