When visiting Denmark, travellers from other European Union or will need to submit negative COVID-19 results. This requirement begins today, August 7, 2016, at 16.00.
After updating the entry restrictions for the Corona virus pandemic on August 6, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision. This was based on the most recent infection figures from Statens Serum Institute.
A press release from the Ministry stated that Switzerland and Sardinia, Italy, are now in the yellow group. Moreover, there are more yellow regions in France, Belgium, and Greece, meaning that all three countries are now fully yellow.
The double testing requirement applies to yellow category travelers who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 or who have not been previously infected. They must present negative results for COVID-19 and test on arrival.
Travellers returning from yellow-colored countries must have a test done after entry if they have not been fully vaccinated. The Ministry advises that travellers should take a PCR test instead of just a quick test on entry in order to increase the chances of finding the delta variant of the disease in Denmark.
It is also noted that children under 16 years old are exempted from the test requirement. Children 16-17 are exempted if their parents are fully vaccinated.
