To mark 75 years of India’s Independence ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav’, Consul General of India in Munich, Mohit Yadav flagged off a car rally from the Consulate on 20 March. The car rally organized by ‘Bharatiyam’ , an umbrella of Indian Diaspora organiz ations based in South Germany, in association with the Consulate, saw an enthusiastic participation of 80 cars. The car rally, observing covid protocols, would cover major city landmarks and highlight the importance of the auto industry in bilateral busine ss ties. Major German auto manufacturers like BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen have invested in India while Indian companies like Motherson Group are sustaining thousands of jobs in South Germany. Deepening Trade and Investment ties between India and Germany are expected to contribute to a stronger “AtmaNirbhar Bharat” integrated with global supply chains in a post COVID pandemic world. 19 Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ is a series of events being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75 years of 2023. India’s Independence, which will continue till 15 August, During the course of Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav, the Consulate will be working closely with various Indian diaspora associations, the State and Local Governments to showcase dedicated weekly t hemes events based on the five pillars, freedom struggle, ideas, achievements, actions and resolve at 75, elucidated recently by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh.Narendra Modi to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence. Consul General Mohit Yadav thanked th e Indian diaspora based in South Germany for their overwhelming response to the celebrations. Munich 20 March 2021
