Kannada Rajyotsava also known as Karnataka Formation day is celebrated on 1st November of every year since 1956.
It was on this day in the year 1956, all the Kannada language speaking regions were merged to form the state Karnataka.
This year Kannadigas of Munich and surrounding areas came together to celebrated 62nd Kannada Rajyotsava at Kultur Zentrum Trudering on 3rdNovember with great joy and vigour.
There were about 200 gathered on this festive occasion.
The stage was setup with red and yellow theme and Bhuvaneshwari Maathe seated with peacock and colorful procession of Deepa (light) along with Mysooru Gombe on either side of the stage.
The evening started with an invocation song followed by lighting the lamp and entire crowd chanting Karnataka State Anthem – “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate”.
From Consulate General of India, Munich, Mr. N. Ramakrishnan and Mr. S. Vivekananthan graced the occasion with their presence.
There were about 20+ performances from enthusiastic participants covering many categories from solo to group, classical to filmatic – singing, dancing, mad-ads, Regional fashion show, Kids fancy dress…etc.
