Europe shares one clear goal: a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
This week, European leaders gathered at the European Council to address Ukraine’s urgent financing needs. They agreed to support Ukraine through EU borrowing on the capital markets, mobilising €90 billion over the next two years.
The leaders also agreed to reserve immobilised Russian assets as backing for this loan, with repayment to take place once Ukraine receives compensation for the damage caused by the war.
This is for Ukraine. This is for our Union — the European Union.
