An event on India-Norway Startup Collaboration was held on November 26, 2024, at the Embassy of India in Oslo in association with Oslo Science Park – Forskningsparken. Ambassador Acquino Vimal provided background information and invited participants to express their thoughts on how to more naturally link the two nations’ startup ecosystems. Cmdr. Amit Rastogi (NRDC) discussed strategic collaborations, Dr. Ram Vishwakarma (CSIR) discussed India’s innovation ecosystem, and Dr. Nalam Madhusadhan Rao (AIC-CCMB) discussed startup incubation approaches.
Opportunities and difficulties in energy, health technology, and biotechnology were highlighted in presentations by leading Norwegian incubators, including Karl Liapunov (Energy Startuplab), Aksel Tunold (Aleap), Dr. Esben Nielssen (ShareLab), and Prof. Hilde Nebb (University of Oslo Growth House).
Industry experts Anirban Gupta and Rishikesh Deole (TCS), Anders Eikenes (Oivi), Heidar Engebret (7analytics), and Dr. Andi Pfaffhuber (Emerald Geo) showcased advancements in artificial intelligence, geospatial technology, and sustainable infrastructure as part of company spotlights.
Cmdr. Amit Rastogi and Bjørn Erik Reinseth chaired a strategic panel at the end of the event that covered issues like leveraging Norway’s open economy with India’s large market, balancing public-private investments, and potential from the new trade agreement.
