Advancing Traditional Medicine for Global Health
The 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine is currently underway in New Delhi, jointly organized by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
The Summit brings together global policymakers, health experts, researchers, and practitioners to strengthen evidence-based traditional medicine and promote its integration into modern healthcare systems. A key focus of the discussions is advancing the inclusion of a Traditional Medicine Module in the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI)—a milestone that will help ensure greater recognition, standardization, and global acceptance of traditional medical practices.
By fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange, the Summit reinforces India’s commitment to Ayush for global health and the shared goal of Health for All.
