QUIZ CONTEST DAY 5
KALAMKARI It is an exquisite form of textile art with a heritage dating back to more than 3000BC. It is born from an ancient tradition of Story Telling. Groups of singers, musicians and painters called chitrakattis moved from village to village narrating the great stories of the Hindu mythology. Progressively over the period of time they illustrated their accounts using large bolts of canvas painted on the spot with rudimentary means and dyes extracted from plants. Thus it is believed was born the first Kalamkari. Only natural dyes are used and a finished textile involves 17 steps of creation. Kalamkari is entirely a handcrafted textile which involves sketching and painting of the design with free hand and a complex resist dyeing technique with natural or vegetable dyes. Question : Kalamkari means painting with a ___ a)brush. b)feather. c)pen. d)co
