The procedures for applying for a national identity card are simplified, safer and faster
The steps to obtain or renew national identity card:
1 – Need to submit a pre-request online (no paper form to be completed at the town hall):
- by creating a personal account on the ANTS website: https://predemande-cni.ants.gouv.fr
- I have been assigned a pre-request number;
2 – We need to contact a town hall equipped with a collection device (and not only that of my home) to confirm the request and proceed with the taking of fingerprints; some town halls offer meetings;
3 we need to check the respective counter of the town hall with your pre-request number and your supporting documents;
4 – We can follow the production and provision of our CNI on: https://passeport.ants.gouv.fr/Services-associes/Ou-en-est-votre-passeport-CNI and I receive an SMS when my card is available.
5 – I collect my identity card from the town hall where I submitted my application.
